Nagy, I. Z.: Lower Cretaceous Cephalopods from the Mts. Bakony, Hungary
Remarks: All specimens are fragments representing the living chamber. The ribbing is uniform and only one exemplar showed a tendency of a greater interstice following 4—5 evenly arranged ribs; this interval was also slightly impressed but not to the rate of a "constriction". The apertures are not whole but indicate a stronger constriction at that region, and a slight curve of the shell in the dorsal direction. The traces of the apertural constriction is well discernible on the ventral side, reflected also in the ribbing (more densely spaced on the dorsal side). The ribs incline at a generally lower angle than on the shells of gaudini, the subtended angle being often below 40°. Owing to the absence of the suturai lines, variations beyond or within the species cannot be expounded. Occurrence: England (from the aequatorialis to the dispar zones); Switzerland (Lower Vraconnian). Lechites aff. rarieostatus RREISTROFFER 1947. Lechites Gaudini var. raricostata BREISTR., p. 94. 1968. Lechites rarieostatus BREISTR. —RENZ, p. 82, pi. 16, figs, lia, b; pi. 17, figs. 7a-c; text fig. 21, 1. Examined material: 3 fragments; Olaszfalu, V; Jásd, Z. — 21, 31, 30 mm. long, A =13, 10, 11, respectively. Description: Round in cross section, ratio 13:13. Ribs robust, sparsely spaced, greatest diameter with 2 ribs only. Ribs proclinate, ventrally and laterally uniform, dorsally flattened. Remarks: The specimens seem to stand very close to BREISTROFFER'S or RENZ'S species. The open name is used because the emergence or differentiation of the ribs is not so marked as e.g. on fig. 7, plate 17 of RENZ'S work. However, the sparse arrangement of the ribs is grater than to permit a relegation into the variational latitude of gaudini. The symmetric character of the lobes is well discernible, similar to the conditions in gaudini. The portions of the lobe elements are slightly more elongated than shown in RENZ'S (1968) fig. 29, e. Occurrence: England (Cambridge, Greensand); Switzerland (Vraconnian); Madagascar. Lechites sp. Remarks: The negative impression of a 40 mm. long specimen, A-10, originating from Tés, M. The ribbing resembles that of rarieostatus, but it is of a slightly denser arrangement. "Baculitidae" sp. indet. Remarks: A 40 mm. long (A = 6) specimen from an early collection; locality: Nagyesztergál, W. The sculpture is wholly unrecognizable. Fam. : Anisoceratidae HYATT, 1900. Genus: Anisoceras PICTET, 1854. Anisoceras perarmatum PICTET & CAMP. 1850. Hamites armatus J. SOWERBY, p. 29, fig. 13. 1861. Anisoceras perarmatus PICT. et CAMP., p. 65, pi. 49, f. 1—3, 6, 7. Examined material: 4 specimens: Bakonynána, P; Pénzeskút, K 2 .
