M. Nyírő, R.: Study of the smaller Foraminifera of the Weimpuszta Middle Eocene key section at Nagyesztergár (Bakony Mountains, Transdanubia, Hungary)
Gen. Hanzawaia ASANO, 1944 Hanzawaia producta (TERQUEM) Plate II, Fig. 16-17. 1882 Truncatulina producta TERQUEM, TERQUEM: Mém. Soc. Géol. France, ser. 3, vol. 2, p. 92, pi. 9, fig. 20, 21 1949 Cibicides productus (TERQUEM), LE CALVEZ: Mém. Expl. Carte geol. dét. France, pt. 2, p. 47, pi. 4, fig. 69-71. 1961 Hanzawaia producta (TERQUEM), KAASCHTETER: Inst. Roy. d. Sei. Nat. de Belg. Mem., Mem. No. 147, p. 226, pl. XIII, fig. 13. A few specimen from the Assilina spira horizon. Small, thin-walled test, pretty coarsely perforate. Sutures slightly deepened. 9-10 chambers in the last whorl of the spiral side, 7-8 chambers observable on the umbilical side. Conclusions 1. The majority of the smaller Foraminifers species is characteristic of the Middle Eocene (Lutetian). 2. The large Foraminifera horizons (those of Assilina spira and Nummulites perforatus, respectively) have yielded different smaller Foraminifers assemblages. 3. The smaller Foraminifers of the lower, Assilina spira horizon are small and thin-walled, whereas those of the overlying Nummulites perforatus-honzon are bigger and more massive. 4. The Assilina spira horizon is characterized by the presence of Cycloloculina sp., while the Nummulites perforatus horizon—by the Asterigerina and Rotalia groups. Final remarks The sample numbers quoted correspond those given by Dr. G. KOPEK, who has collected the material. The smaller Foraminifers of the Weimpuszta key section are deposited in the smaller Foraminifera collection of the Geological-Paleontological Section, Museum of Natural History, Budapest (registration numbers 1818-1851). The large Foraminifers were studied by Dr. T. KECSKEMÉTI. The Dorog Basin occurrences have been cited from a report by Dr. L. VITÁLISZILAHY. The author acknowledges with hearty thanks the courtesy of all of them. References: 1. CALVEZ, Y. LE: Révision des Foraminifers lutétiens du Bassin de Paris. (Mém. Expl. Carte Géol. dét.
