perdolichocranial) is 33 and 13 per cents, respectively, of the males; short is 7 per cent. Of the female skulls, 33 per cent is long (dolichocranial) ; no short (brachycranial) skull has been observable. To sum up, 52 per cent of the skulls is medium long (mesocranial), 43 per cent long and very long (dolicho- and hyperdolichocranial), and 5 per cent short (brachycranial). The length-height index was determinable in 65 per cent of the material. The results show a difference between the two sexes. While the male skulls are medium high (orthocranial) in 75 per cent of the cases, 17 per cent low (chamaecranial), and 8 per cent high (hypsicranial), the female skulls are high (hypsicranial) in 60 per cent, low (chamaecranial) in 40 per cent, with the absence of any medium (orthocranial) skulls. Combining the two sexes with reference to this index, 53 per cent of the skulls is medium (orthocranial). The high (hypsicranial) and low (chamaecranial) groupfrequencies show equal rates (23—23 per cents). MEASUREMENTS AND INDICES Table IX.
