Some Data to the Mite Fauna of Finland (Acari) By S. MAHUNKA, Budapest My colleague, Dr. F. MIHÁLYI, Dipterologist, extracted some soil and moss samples in Berlese funnels during his collecting trip in Finland. The material contained a species new to science, as well as some very interesting taxa, several of which new for the fauna of Finland. I submit below the entire list of the collected species. Owing to the work of KARPPINEN, the Oribatids of the Finnish mite fauna are rather well known; he had already shown a great part of the species enumerated here. On the other hand, the Tarsonemini species have, as far as I know not been studied yet, thus all of them are new for the fauna of the region. The collected material derives from three localities, also listed below; in the enumeration of the species, the following serial numbers refer to them: No. E-157: Pallastunturi, 30 July, 1967 No. E-158: Lammi, 13 Julv, 1967 No. E-159: Bromarv, 8 July, 1967 Mesostigmata Zerconidac Zercon triangularis C. L. KOCH, 1836: No. 159. Parazercon serakensis WILLMANN, 1939: No. 159. Trombidiformes Pyemotidae Pediculaster mesembrinae (R. CANESTRINI, 1881): No. 157. Neopygmephorus togatus (WILLMANN, 1942): No. 158. Scutacaridae Scutacarus laetificus RACK, 1966: No. 158. Scutacarus mihalyii sp. n. Length: 197-202 p, width: 131-140 p. Dorsal side (Fig. 1) : Clypeus small, margin also narrow. Entire surface conspicu ously punctate. All dorsal hairs long, thin, without any significant differences in size. Setae humerales internae (45 p) arising slightly anteriorly to externae. Setae lumbales internae and setae sacrales internae (55 p.) slightly longer than setae dorsales (42 p) and the equally long two external pairs of setae. Ventral side (Fig. 3): Also visibly punctate. On the anterior sternal plate, a short section of sternum attenuating in front, epimere I brokenly arcuate. Hairs thin. Anterior margin of posterior sternal plate arcuate, lateral margins irregular. Setae praesternales internae considerably shorter than posteriorly situated externae.
