ending before rear margin in sagittate mark. Admedians complete, gradually diverg­ing. First submedian ending before dorsal tubercle. Side of shield with granulations and short curved lines. Dorsal tubercles 20 [i. apart, on rear margin. Dorsal seta 40 p. long. Forelegs 30 p. long, tibia 7 p. long, tarsus 6 p. long, claw 7 p. long, slightly curved. Featherclaw 4-rayed. Hindlegs 27 p, long, tibia 5 u. long, tarsus 5 p. long, claw 8 p. long. Coxae generally lined with a pattern of lines. Abdomen with about 85 rings. Accessory seta 5 u, long. Female genitalia 19 p. wide, with about 6—8 short longitudinal furrows. Genital seta 10 p. long. Male 140 p, long. Type locality: Csopak, Hungary. Collected: 23 July, 1963 by GÉZA BÁLÁS. Host: Cotinus coggygria SCOP. (Anacardiaceae). Relation to host: The mites cause leaf-shrivelling. Type material: No. 932. A type slide, and four paratype slides. Remarks: Until now only Epitrimerus cotini was named as occurring on the same host by the author. The species is named to honour the late GY. SZÉPLIGETI, the first discoverer of the injury of on Cotinus, caused by the gall-mites. Other known localities are: Tihany (Hungary, Lake Balaton), collected by BÉLA AMBRUS.
