New Flea Species in the Hungarian Fauna I By I. SZABÓ, Budapest The last paper on the Hungarian Siphonaptera fauna was published more than three decades ago (DUDICH, 1932). Together with the two species included in the list of that paper, the number of flea species known from Hungary increased to 25, as also reviewed in my recent paper CSZABÓ, 1964). A number of faunistical and systematical works relating to Europe (HOPKINS & ROTHSCHILD, 1954, 1956, 1962; JANCKE, 1938; SMIT, 1954, 1955, 1957; WAGNER, 1936, etc.) report, with respect to the range of about ten other species, that they occur also in Hungary. These species became known from JORDAN'S and ROTHSCHILD'S collectings in Transylvania, but since this area is now beyond our frontiers, they can no longer be considered as members of our fauna. It is fortunate that the majority of these taxa, together with some other species new for Hungary, had since then been captured in some localities of the country. The species listed below have been mainly collected by me, but I received unidentified flea species also from colleagues M. JANISCH and GY. TOPÁL, as well as some others, collected or extracted from sifted and nest materials submitted by S. ENDRŐDY-YOUNGA, M. EÖRY, L. HANTOS, E. HÁMORI, B. HÜTTLER, S. MAHUNKA, E. SCHMIDT, O. SEY, J. SZUNYOGHY, D. TAPFER and K. WARGA. It is my agreeable duty to express my sincere thanks for their endeavours also in this place.
