Bohus, G. ; Babos, M.: Notes on the occurrence in Hungary of Russula species, with regard to their range in Europe

Russula obscura Rom. (= R. vinosa Lindbl.) Frequent in Northern Europe, but missing or mostly rare in other areas. It is seldom found also in Hungary. Herb. : in Querceto petraeae-Carpinetum pannonicum, 4 Sept. 1949, around Sopron, leg. Lenky&Bohus; in silva, 4 August 1955, around Budakeszi, Mts. Buda, leg. mycologists ; 19 Oct. 1949, Mt. Nagykevély, Mts. Pilis, leg. Bohus. Russula ochroleuca Fr. ex Pers. Ranging over Europe ; several authors consider it as frequent or rather frequent. Infrequent in Hungary, found up to now exclusively in the form as interpreted by Konrad&Maublanc (t. 345), therefore with cuticular cystids on the surface of the cap and with spore patterns 8a, 8b, 7a (not other R. ochroleuca types with pattern 5b) (Schaeffer's spore table, 1952). The cuticular cystids of the collected specimens are numerous, elongately clavate, staining blue with sulphovanillin. Hob. : around Sopron, in silva, 1 Sept. 1949, leg. Russula pectinata Fr. ex Bull, sensu Cke. A rather frequent fungus in Hungary. It is an association-indifferent species from a coenological point of view, though there is a certain kind of connection with the associations Querceto petraeae-Carpinetum pannonicum and Potentillo-Quercetum (petraea, cerris) pannonicum.
