Sandwich Tern (Sterna sandvicensis sandvicensis Lath.) I observed 2 specimens on the open sea, yet in sight of the port of Alexandria, on 2 September. The record is interesting, due to its earliness. White-winged Black Tern (Chlidonias leucopterus Temm.) I observed 10 specimens on the Lake Karun on 10 October. The relatively early migration record is not especially interesting. A male and a female were collected. Whiskered Tern (Chlidonias hyhrida hybrida Pall.) I observed and collected a male specimen on the Lake Karun on 10 October. The record is interesting due to its relative earliness. Egyptian Turtle-dove (Streptopelia turtur isabellina Bp.) I observed it in Egypt in September (3—30) only. I noted a total of 85 specimens, with the majority of them in Alexandria and Cairo. Apart of the two large cities, I observed only 18 birds. It is a peculiar fact that I have not met with it S of the Saqqara — Helwan line. Its densities experienced in Alexandria may be indicated by the following values : 10 specimens in the Western Harbour, 8 in the Eastern Harbour, 10 specimens scattered over the City, 6 in the Botanical Cardens, 20 in the Montazah Park. I observed but 4 specimens along the Delta road between Alexandria und Cairo. I noted 6 specimens scattered over Cairo, 4 in the Gezira island, 3 on the Mt, Mokattam. Aside of these, I observed 4 birds between Cairo and Helwan, 4 again between Gizeh and Abu Rawash, 4 between Saqqara — Memphis, and 2 in Abu Rawash. My observations in Alexandria fall between 3—9 September, the others between 9—30 September. Laughing Dove (Stigmatopelia senegalensis senegalensis L., S. s. aegyptiaca Lath., S. s. phoenicophila Hart.) To establish its occurrence and dispersion in Egypt, I made very careful countings during the whole research trip. As a result, I noted a total of 688 specimens. Before discussing their distribution, I have to state that I collected the nominate form in Aswan only, and even though I made test shots and collectings during the whole way all other specimens bagged proved to belong to the subspecies aegyptiaca Lath. It may be assumed therefore that, in all probability, the nominate form occurs but up to Aswan, at least in the period in question (23 September— 25 November), that is, when I collected and observed the birds. Concerning their dispersal, it can generally be said that I did not see it at the Red Sea ; it is very scarce in the valley of the Nile N of the province
