Babos, M.: Notes on the occurrence in Hungary of Lactarius species with regard to their range in Europe

Lactarius obscuratus (Lasch) Fr. In the past years, we had many occasion to collect this Lactarius species of small habits in the alderwood groves along streams in the Central Mountains. Usually, it can be found in small numbers, but it fructified in masses in a certains locality in the alderwood of the Samassa valley in the Mts. Bükk, on 1 August 1957. In all probability, it is widely distributed also in Hungary, — similarly to its dispersion in Europe, — but owing to its minute habits, it may possibly have escaped many times the attention of the research workers.
