We have but some sporadical data from Hungary of this species of the Deliciosus-groux), common in Southern Europe. It is not frequent though it occurs eventually in masses in some areas with a warm microclimate (according to the verbal comminication of a mycologist, it fructified in masses, together with L. deliciosus, near Balatonfüred). A species distributed within the range of the beech in Europe. In the last few years, we came to know more and more data about its occurrence in Hungary. It fructified in masses in certain localities. It belongs among those rather rare species whose occurrence is independent of the kind of plant association, it being bound to a single species (in this case, to the beech). Herb. : in the Mts.
