becomes longitudinally strigose towards the front and is almost absent just behind the clypeus, disc with a short median longitudinal furrow and, on each side of this, towards base, a small fovea, a further impression on each side just internal to the eye. Mandibles normal in size, maxillary palpi as fig. 8. Antennae moderately long, reaching (if extended backwards) a little beyond the posterior margin of the pronotum, the first segment long, moderately widened apically, the second narrower and much shorter than the first, the third a little shorter than the second and distinctly narrower, widened apically, the fourth about as wide as and shorter than the third, subquadrate, the fifth distinctly longer and broader than the fourth, about as long as broad, the sixth to tenth about as long as the fifth but increasing gradually in breadth, the sixth about as broad as long, the tenth about one and one half times as broad as long, the eleventh more than twice as long as the tenth, bluntly pointed apically. Neck with sculpture similar to that on the sides of the head, but much finer. Pronotum transverse, nearly one and one third times as broad as long, narrowed towards base, the anterior angles rounded, the sides more or less straight, the posterior angles broadly rounded, the base rounded ; rather broadly impressed at sides, disc with the median and lateral impressions confluent and not very strong, forming a single irregular impression. Surface rather coarsely longitudinally wrinkled. Elytra nearly .one and two thirds times as broad as the suturai length which is about as long as the pronotum, distinctly broader than the head, broadest behind middle, the sides lightly rounded. Surface uneven and with a coarse longitudinal sculpture similar to that on the pronotum. Tergites of abdomen very finely and moderately closely punctured, without visible ground sculpture. Sternite of the seventh segment with the apical margin very slightly emarginate, that of the eighth segment with the apical margin slightly emarginate in the middle, the emargination with a fringe of fine setae and, behind this, a small, very weak, tubercle. Aedeagus as figs. 11 and 12, the lateral lobes broadly overlapping in front. Length : 1,5 mm. Female — Head, pronotum and elytra dull, abdomen moderately shining. Head rather small, about one and one third times as broad as long, narrower than the pronotum ; the post ocular region about as long as the eye (seen from above), scarcely widened behind and distinctly narrower than the breadth across the eyes, the sides almost straight, the posterior angles broadly rounded ; the clypeus somewhat depressed, rather less than one and one half times as broad as long, extending well in front of antennái tubercles, the clypeal suture well marked. Surface of clypeus and antennái tubercles coarsely superficially strigose, rest of dorsal surface with a sculpture similar to that of the male but extending right up to the clypeal suture, disc with a short median longitudinal furrow, on each side with an indistinct longitudinal impression which extends from the sides of the clypeal suture almost to the posterior head suture and becomes broader posteriorly, a further impression on each side just internal to the eye. Antennae and maxillary palpi as in male. Neck sculptured as in male. Pronotum less transverse, about one and one quarter times as broad as long, otherwise similar to that of the male. Elytra as in the male but a little less transverse, the suturai length about as long as the pronotum.
