ly in its posterior portion, is brought about as a geometrical and mechanical implication. Despite of the considerable mass of bone occurring in consequence of the configuration just referred to, the anterior part of the neural arch appears even more massive and heavy built, than the posterior one, for it is much broader, the processus obliqui anteriores being considerably larger than their posterior analoga. Left proc. obi. ant. damaged on its anterior surface. Spinal canal anteriorly fully protected by the neural arch rather protruding over the limit of its floor in rostrad direction, whilst the posterior end of its floor remains, to about the half length of the posterior triangular prominence, uncovered, because of the neural arch's being, in that place, slightly concave in postero-anterior sense. The articulation surface of the processus obliqui anteriores is, on the whole, smooth and even, rounded on the lateral (exterior) edge, leaf-shaped, with obliterate, though comparatively broad structure lines running parallel with its outlines. Greatest distance between lateral edges of proc. obi. ant. 112.1 mm. Angle enclosed by proc. obi. ant. and the imaginary line connecting the medio-basai (interior-basal) points of them, measuring about 140°. Anterior intervertebral surface of them, i. e. the facies subrhomboidae (FEJÉRV., 191 8. emend. F.-LGH., 1923), very large, gradually gaining in convexity toward the supero-lateral edge, rather even in the supero-medial portion. Sulci connectentes arcus vertebrae (FEJÉRV., 1918) very shallow, faintly marked. Lower anterior surface of facies subrhomboideae slightly concave in their medial portion forming an expanded continuation to either of the sulci connectentes, and going over into a slight convexity in the lateral portion. Comparatively faint indications of the foveae paraglenoideae (KEJÉRV., 1918, emend. F.LGH., 1923, & FEJÉRV., nunc 04 ) are to be found at the infero-lateral basis of the facies subrhomboideae, medially of, and contiguous to, the inferior part of the facies costales. This structure is very obliterate on the left side, whilst on the right it assumes the aspect of a horse-shoe-like impression, the open part of which is turned upward, with a small, though well marked, tubercle lying interior to the outer (lateral) arc of the horse-shoe. Ventral ly the right side fovea paraglenoidea is delimited by a strong bone ridge. It is interesting to 64 This excavation was first described as „cava paraglenoidalis (FEJÉRV., 1918) an orthographically (for „eavnm" should have stood instead of „cava") and grammatically wrong denomination, which I wish to replace by the term foveae paraglenoideae. used here above.
