Body resembling in shape S. striata (L.) but a little smaller. Ground-colour of the pronotal disk and of the hemelytra dark brown; head, underside and legs yellow; base of the ventral side of the abdomen darkened. Frontal arch much more prominent in the cfcf than in the ÇQ, the head being therefore in the ç?(f distinctly longer than in the 99- Head of the cfcf, when seen from above, somewhat longer than Vs of the length of the pronotal disk, in the 99 head twice shorter than the pronotal disk. Facial impression of the (fcf very large, occupying the entire width of the interocular space, terminating above in a strongly convex arch. Face almost glabrous in both sexes. The length of the antennái joints could not be examined. Length of the pronotal disk equaling about' 2 /;! of its breadth. Lateral angles of the pronotal disk pointed at right angles, therefore slightly wider than in S. Falleni (FIEB.). Pronotal keel visible only in front of the disk, posteriorly disappearing. Pronotal disk with 9—10 wide, partly confluent pale transverse lines. Lateral lobes of the prothorax shaped similarly as in (V. Falleni (FIEB.) but somewhat wider. 2 Pronotal disk and clavi feebly and rather irregularly rastrated, corium and membrane smooth. The pale transverse lines of the hemelytra (fig. 5) not very regular, here and there broken up, especially so on the apical portion of the clavus and on the corium. Membranal suture almost unmarked. Membrane covered with pale zigzag-like markings, arranged radially along the margins. The pattern of the left membrane slightly paler interiorly than that of the right one. The pale pattern of the pronotal disk and of the hemelytra dominates distinctly over the dark ground-colour, the pale markings being much wider than the dark intervals between them. Pubescence of the hemelytra scarce. Metasternal xiphus short, blunt at the apex, with nearly straight, lateral margins. Fore legs of the çfçf. Trochanter uniformly pubescent, showing no tuft of longer hairs about the centre of the convexity. Femora slightly thickened, with an area covered by thickened hairs in the middle of the anterior surface. Tibiae simple, three-edged towards the apex. Pala comparatively small (Fig. 6), somewhat wider in the apical portion than in the basal one ; its outer margin regularly curved towards the apex, the inner one almost straight with over . 20 bristles. Two rows of stridulatory teeth : the basal one is almost parallel to the inner palar margin, extending - Cf. JACZKWSKI, Ann. Zool. Mus. Po!. H. N., Warszawa, III, 1924, p. 42, 1. 37
