Esaki, T.: Notes on some species of Acanthosoma. (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)

XXIII. ANNALES MUSEI NATIONALIS HUNGAFJCI. 1926. NOTES ON SOME SPECIES OF ACANTHOSOMA. (HEMIPTERA: PENTATOMIDAE.) By TEISO ESAKI. (Plate IV.) The palaearctic genus of the Pentatomidae, Acanthosoma CURTIS, is well developed in the eastern part of Asia and, in fact, on one hand, it is distributed southwardly over whole India, while on the other hand, it is represented by a lot of handsome species in the eastern part of Siberia and in Japan. During my stay in Europe, I have had the opportunity to examine most of the type specimens of the species described by JAKOWLEW (St. Petersburg), REUTER (Helsingfors, Stockholm), and HORVÁTH (Budapest), and found some noteworthy synonymical remarks, etc., which I am now publishing in the present paper. At the same time I give some figures of several species for the purpose of facilitating to determine them. 1. Acanthosoma spinicolle JAK. (Plate IV. fig. 1—3.) Acanthosoma spinicollis JAKOWLEW, Bull. Soc. Nat. Moscou, LV. 2. p. 387 et 396. (1880). This species has hitherto been known only from Amur. Types are now in the Zoological Museum of the Academy of Science, St. Petersburg. There are, however, 1 cf, Przewalsk, Turkestan and 1 9; Kuldsha, in the collection of the Hungarian National Museum, Budapest. 2. Acanthosoma angulatum JAK. (Plate IV. fig. 4—6.) Acanthosoma angulatum JAKOWLEW, Bull. Soc. Nat. Moscou, LV. 2. p. 387 et 397. (1880). Acanthosoma ziozankeanum MATSUMURA, Journ. Coll. Agric, Tohoku Imp. Univ., Sapporo, IV. p. 34(1911). Acanthosoma rubicome MATSUMURA, Thous. Ins. Jap., Addit., I. p. 126 et 127, tab. 13. fig. 9. (1913). This species is known from various localities in East Siberia. Also known from Manchuria. MATSUMURA described this species under two names from Japan, where it is hitherto known only from Saghalien and Hokkaido. The types are in the Zoological Museum of the Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg.
