Black; head and thorax rather finely punctured ; face covered with short cinereous pubescence ; clypeus naked and much produced, anterior margin and the tips of the mandibles ferruginous ; check with long whitish pubescence. Thorax ; sides of metathorax, floccus on the posterior femora and the postscutellum with whitish pubescence, latter produced in the middle into a blunt tooth ; legs-fusco-ferruginous, with the anterior tibiae and apical joints of the tarsi brighter; wings hyaline and iridescent. Abdomen shining and punctured, apical margins of the 2 basal segments broadly depressed and more finely and closely punctured than the rest; apical margins of the 2- 4. segments pale testaceous ; apical margins of the 2 basal segments narrowly fringed with white pubescence, usually more or less interrupted in the middle. cT -resembles the 5 very closely, but has the face much more pubescent ; antennae filiform and longer than the head and thorax ; scutellum armed at its posterior lateral angles with an acute tooth, metathorax truncate and slightly concave, its base with short longitudinal grooves, lateral margins fringed with long pubescence. Ins : Aru. » 20. Nomia flavipennis n. sp. $ . Grosse Art mit glänzend schwarzem Abdomen, Metanotum in 2-teiligen Lappen verlängert, Flügel gelb gefärbt. Ç . Schwarz, gelbbraun bis schwarzbraun behaart, Kopf und Thorax dicht runzlig punktirt, ganz matt, mit einzelnen grösseren Punkten, die besonders auf Mesonotum und Scutellum auffallen, Clypeus mit 3 mächtigen Längskielen, Mandibel ganz schwarz, Antenne unten braun, Geisselglied 2 = 3 = 4 = 5, Kopf mehr braun behaart ; Thorax oben und seitlich, fast schwarzbraun befilzt, Metanotum nach hinten in tief 2-teiligen, concaven Lappen verlängert, Area schwach längsrunzelig. Abdomen mit einzelnen, flachen Punkten auf der matten Basalhälfte der Segmente, Endhälfte breit glänzend und fein wellenförmig quergerunzelt, 5—6 gelblich behaart. Yentralsegmente breit gelblich und dicht befranst. Beine schwarzbraun, gelbweiss behaart, auch die Scopa hell, Calcar III kräftig, an der Spitze winkelig umgebogen. Flügel stark gelbbraun, Adern gelbbraun. Tegulae rotbraun. L. 11—11V S mm. Br. 4 mm. Var. J mit dicht rothgelb befilztem Mesonotum, Scutellum und Metanotum, Tibie III und Tarsen rotgelb, Flügelrand merklich getrübt, L. 10 mm. Br. 4 mm. var. Kuehni n. var. Ins. "Wetter.
