I must remark, that one of them (« $ ») differs from the typical specimens by having the white subterminal band of the tail interrupted by the two middle feathers which are nearly uniform grey. 42. Turtur orientális, LATH. — cf. Tibelti, June 24. 43. Tetrao urogatlus, L.? — 5. Tibelti, July 1. 44. Tetrastes orientális, n. sp. — An adult male specimen without locality in winter plumage. Similar to our Tetrastes bonasia from which it differs as follows : The nasal plumes dense and uniform black in colour ; only a narrow black-barred white band across the front. The whole of lower back distinctly but narrowly barred whith black ; the terminal band of tail-feathers nearly white and the subterminal black ones very broad which measures 20—25 mm (in Tetrastes bonasia 15 mm only).
