INVESTIGATIONS ON PARAGUAYAN BATRACHIANS. ál 5 on a leaf with folded limbs, it appears - as to be seen on the plate of Mr. BOULENGER — entirely of a faded green without any markings and is quite protected through its colour, because it seems to be one with the leaf, but as soon as it stretches its limbs, it shows the intense bright orange colour with the dark markings, which can be regarded as a terrour-sign against the attacks of the enemies.
