As far as it can be ascertained from the archive documents the museum had already transferred the full purchase price of 9,632 marks for the painting to Munich by 8 July, 1931 and the private donations of 1,000 marks per donor were received after that. In connection with this see files no. 566, 628,656, 809 and 835 in the archives of the Museum of Fine Arts. On the picture in question by Courbet: M. On the purchase of the three works see file no. 313/1934 in the archives of the Museum of Fine Arts. Valér Ferenczy, Landscape of Nagybánya, oil on canvas, 53x85 cm. Ehe painting was lot no. 22 at the aforementioned auction of the estate held at the Ernst Museum in 1934. The Museum of Fine Arts acquired the picture for a mere 105 pengős, (inv. no. 6700.-MK 4333.)
