As far as it can be ascertained from the archive documents the museum had already transferred the full purchase price of 9,632 marks for the painting to Munich by 8 July, 1931 and the private donations of 1,000 marks per donor were received after that. Ehe painting was lot no. 22 at the aforementioned auction of the estate held at the Ernst Museum in 1934. The Museum of Fine Arts acquired the picture for a mere 105 pengős, (inv. no. 6700.-MK 4333.)
