wanted to present performers and ensembles that experiment with new kinds of media and alternative styles. Victor Vasarely's permanent exhibition is looking forward to a big change too. After the renovation of the exhibition rooms we would like to display A 7 asarely's œuvre in a new, modern space in the spirit of modern exhibition design. Monika Knmin TOURING EXHIBITIONS OF MASTERPIECES The Museum of Fine Arts did not want to celebrate its centenary all on its own so it revived an almost forgotten tradition and organized exhibitions of select works of art outside Budapest as well. With the support of the /Ministry of Cultural Heritage some 350 works of art from the Collection of Egyptian Art, the Collection of Prints and Drawings and the Collection of Modern Art w r ere put on display over a period of (me year in nine Hungarian towns. Szombathely, Győr, Kaposvár, Keszthely, Pécs, Szolnok, Kecskemét, Debrecen and Hódmezővásárhely hosted the exhibitions that were either thematic or centred around the figure of an artist. They w 7 ere organized by various curators from the Museum of Fine Arts.
