FROM ROMANTICISM TO POST-IMPRESSIONISM: THE NEW PERMANENT EXHIBITION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ART AFTER 1800 Curator: Judit Geskó; Assistant curators: Ilona Fekete, Márton Orosz, Mónika Kumin As a continuation of the Old Masters' Gallery with its newly restructured halls, on 2 3 November 2005, the new permanent exhibition of the Department of Art after 1800 was opened. The new exhibition space of the collection in the two halls and rows of cabinets on the first floor houses fifty-seven paintings and sculptures (fig. 68). Some of the features of this new exhibition, along with the same space, recall the 1957 Modern Art Gallery exhibition, staged by István Genthon 1 , thus rendering the present show a retrospective of exhibition-history. 68 INTERIOR VIEW OF THE EXHIBITION
