• • • • ; J Dutch 17th century exhibition 55. Floorplan of the second floor halls were completely revived for the new launch. 8 The better part of them had been in storage precisely due to their bad condition, and their restoration allowed them to be included in the permanent exhibition. We could say then, that it was for this occasion that the rehabilitation of the Dutch collection took place. In the first hall, number XXVI, the diverse picture of the painterly endeavours nourished on primarily Flemish and Italian sources at the first few years of the century receives the viewer. Among the leading masters of the Haarlem School, the works of Comelis van Haarlem reveal the master's path from Mannerism to Classicist approach. As to mythological subjects, the small masterpiece of Joachim Wtewael from Utrecht also reveals his Italian orientation. Alongside the work completed as a basic professional objective by the museum restorers, the 3 million forints obtained in a National Cultural Fund (NKA) grant covered the greater part of this restoration work. In addition, in the framework of the restoration project of the Friends of the Museum of Fine Arts, funds were generously provided by the Volunteer Museum Guides, as well as by the Budapest Royal Dutch Embassy, for the restoration of two plus two paintings.
