End of the 6 th century - beginning of the 5 th century. From the collection of Antal Haan. Said to be from Italy. H.: 8.4 cm; W: 2.8 cm; estimated diameter of the body: 14.4 cm. Unpublished. The red parts of the surface are worn; the letters are worn. Wall fragment of a lekythos (?). On the right side of the fragment a part of a lower leg from ankle to knee is visible, with the fringe of the cloak painted with added red at the knee. On the left side two pairs of legs can be seen: tights and stipes in greaves. Near the edge, behind the legs, a diagonal line is incised in a black spot. According to the inscription the armoured figure was Geryoneus. Behind the leg on the right side of the fragment the tail of an E is seen. The details of the legs and armour are incised. There is a cylindrical hole to the left of the inscription, under the left knee of Geryoneus. Both edges of it are flaked off, more heavily at the upper part. It indicates that the direction of drilling was from the back to the front. 69 The fractures were trimmed up. The hole is 2 mm in diameter. *7.
