DÁGI, MARIANNA - SIPOS, ENIKŐ: Report on the Conservation of Coptic Textiles in the Department of Greek and Roman Antiquities (1999-2000)

39^40. New pieces Ihat belong together. Budapest, Museum of Fine Arts, inv. nos. 97.51.A and 97.52.A 97.51.A and 97.52.A (figs. 39-40): the material (wool, linen), colour (greenishbrown and creamy white on brown), the pattern (clavus-baná with grape-leaf ornament with leaf-shaped ending; goat (?) and rabbit (?) in a medallion), the technique of weaving, and the warp- and weft-thread count (10 warp and 26 weft) correspond. The position of the medallion in relation to the clavus differs on the two fragments, which may be possibly due to their original position on different sides of the cloth.
