The Pataikos seal amulets most probably express the concept rebirth I life, similar to the other seal amulets, meaning also deduced from their inscriptions and shapes. From the beginning the dwarf representations had protective function 91 and when they are mentioned in the texts also their apothropaic character is stressed, 92 even when related to the corps of Osiris. 93 Although they could have many kinds of appearance they were rarely separated by names. In the magical texts the dwarf gods often ap­peared as a manifestation of Re / Re-Harachti 94 or Ptah 95 and in spite of their denomi­nation as dwarf they could also be giants 96 (rm.t S). They could be identified with Osiris 97 and also connected 98 or identified 99 with Horus and Cheperi. Their images were hung on the neck. According to the magical Papyrus Turin 1993 100 Geb wore dwarf amulet and in other texts, especially from the Late Period, this type of amulet was hung on the neck of the goddess Neith. 101 Moreover the dwarf god probably had 89 Brunton, op. cit.
