A walk in the Museum

• The museum: from region to region The museum is divided into seven regional units: Upland Market Town, UpperTisza, Great Plains, Southern Transdanubia, Bakony, BalatonUplands, Western Transdanubia, Kisalföld. The guide book is also organised according to these regional units. Besides a short introduction to the displays, points of interest related to the region are also highlighted. Look for passages in colour type! The Hungarian Open Air Museum provides the ideal mixture of cultural recreation and a pleasant walk. The Skanzen is a nature conservation area, belonging to the Duna-Ipoly National Park. Please, take care of our museum, so that we can preserve it for the succeeding generations. This is what we are all working for! We would like to remind our visitors that smoking is prohibited throughout the whole museum - except for the designated areas!
