The beds, the cabinet, the cupboard with drawers on both sides are amongst the most dignified pieces of civilian furniture. Historic pictures depicting Zsuzsanna Lorántffy, wife of György Rákóczi I., the Principal of Transylvania hang on the walls. She is remembered by Tállya's Protestant inhabitants as the patroness of Protestant culture and education. The size of the barrets from Gönc has changed several ti­mes over the centuries. At first its cubic capacity was 480 Buda icce (old liquid measure: 40724 litre], but this was re­duced to 160 icce in the 19th century (135,75 litre). This lat­ter measure is still used in the cellars of Hegyalja. The barrel is made from oak, which used to be fastened with wooden hoops. However since the beginning of the 19th century, iron hoops have been used. As the carts driven to faraway markets travelled on bad, steep roads, the narrower and longer barrets of Gönc became very popular because they could be loaded safety and used less space.
