Villa rustica "Even the old Romans..." - we often say about our ancestors. Archaeological evidence found within the museum confirms that this region was inhabited in Roman times and that orchards and vineyards were cultivated. During the preparation for the museum archaeologists stumbled upon expansive ruins and following the excavation the remnants of the biggest villa rustica in Pannónia province took shape. It flourished between 200 - 400 AD and covered an area of 5300 square meters and it had 50 rooms plus baths with hot and cool water The walls were decorated with frescoes and the rooms had under-floor heating.
