The village itself is a kind of emblem of Hungarians, its name is coalesced with the notions rural tranquillity, beautiful natural wonder, ‘traditional’ and ‘Hungarian’. All this can easily be experienced and observed by those curious and interested, as there are numerous places offering comfortable accommodation, delicious bites and a quiet holiday. However, it has not always been so self-evident and easily accessible - diverse processes have led to the 21 st century situation. Das Dorf selber ist eine Art Ungarntum-Emblem, sein Name wird der ländlichen Ruhe, des Naturwunders, den Begriffen „traditionell” und „ungarisch” gleichgestellt. Der interessierte Besucher kann das alles selber erfahren und erleben, da die Gemeinde zahlreiche bequeme Unterkünfte, gutes Essen und gemütliche Erholung bietet. Dies war jedoch nicht immer so selbstverständlich und leicht erlebbar - vielschichtige Prozesse haben zum Ausbau im 21. Jahrhundert beigetragen. Ethnographen kennen und beobachten Torockó seit Jahrhunderten und dieser „Schmuckkasten aus Siebenbürgen” hat eine vornehme Stellung im gesellschaftli- chen-kulturellen allgemeinen Bewusstsein. What values does the village represent and what opportunities does its 21 st century situation have based on two-hundred-year-old ethnographic elements?
