CSERI MIKLÓS: Búcsú Füzes Endrétől (1932-2015)
DR. ENDRE FUZES 1932-2015 t Dr. Endre FÜZES was born in 1932 in Döbrököz. He was educated at the Cistercian Grammar School in Pécs and then at the Arts Faculty at the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest and graduated in ethnography and museology. From 1955 he was employed by the Janus Pannonius Museum in Pécs for eight years as an ethnographer-museologist and from 1964 till 1980 he worked for the Museum Department of the Ministry of Culture in Budapest as a group leader consultant. Between 1980 and 1986 he was senior researcher of the Ethnographic Research Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and from 1986 until his retirement in 1995 he headed the Hungarian Open Air Museum Szentendre as director general. After his retirement, he was president of the Council for Folk Crafts for decades, he was member of the Secretariat for the Millennium Memorial Committee for several years, furthermore, he was president of (and managed) the Hungarian Association of Country House Museums for almost a decade. He was awarded numerous prizes: in 1989 the Móra Ferenc Commemorative Medal, in 1996 the Kodály Zoltán Award of the Pro Renovanda Cultura Hungáriáé Foundation, in 1997 the Győrffy István Commemorative Medal, in 1999 the Lifetree Award and in 2000 the Forster Gyula Award. His lifework is of invaluable importance for the preservation of Hungarian vernacular architecture and folk culture. Due to his lifework and his activities as director general, he definitely contributed to the progression of the Hungarian Open Air Museum. DR. ENDRE FÜZES 1932-2015 Dr. Endre FÜZES wurde 1932 in Döbrököz geboren. Seine Studien hat er im Gymnasium der Zisterzienser in Pécs und später an der Philosophische Fakultät der Eötvös Loránd Universität in Budapest verfolgt und die Fächer Ethnographie und Museologie absolviert. Ab 1955 war er acht Jahre lang als Ethnograph-Museologe im Janus Pannonius Museum in Pécs und zwischen den Jahren 1964 und 1980 als Gruppenleiter Hauptreferent der Museumshauptabteilung des Bildungsministeriums in Budapest tätig. Vom Jahr 1980 bis zum Jahr 1986 war er leitender wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter der Ethnographischen Forschergruppe der Ungarischen Wissenschaftlichen Akademie und ab 1986 bis zum Jahr seines Ruhestandes, 1995 leitete er das Ungarische Freilichtmuseum Szentendre als Generaldirektor. Nach seiner Versetzung in den Ruhestand war er Jahrzehnten lang Vorsitzender des Rates für Volksgewerbekunst, sowie Mitglied des Sekretariats für das Millenniumgedächtniskomitee. Fast ein Jahrzehnt lang leitete er als Vorsitzender die Arbeit des Vereins der Heimatmuseen in Ungarn. Seine Tätigkeit war mit der Erinnerungsmedaille Ferenc Móra im Jahr 1989, mit dem Preis Zoltán Kodály der Stiftung Pro Renovanda Cultura Hungáriáé im Jahr I 996, ein Jahr darauf mit der Erinnerungsmedaille István Győrffy, mit dem Lebensbaum-Preis 1999 und mit dem Preis Gyula Forster 2000 anerkannt. Seine Arbeit ist von unschätzbarem Wert im Bereich der Bewahrung der ungarischen Volksarchitektur und Volkskultur. Durch sein Lebenswerk und seiner Tätigkeit als Generaldirektor leistete er einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur Entfaltung des Ungarischen Freilichtmuseums. 271
