Lengyel Lajos fotói 1926-1977

1931 Fotói szerepelnek a Munka-kör szociofotó-csoportjának a Természetbarátok Turista Egyesületében majd a Kovács Szalonban rendezett kiállításán. Tipográfusként részt vesz a CIAM magyarországi csoportja által rendezett Kolház című építészeti kiállítás létrehozásában. Két fotómontázsa megjelenik Gró Lajos Az orosz filmművészet című könyvében, Kassák Lajosról készített portréja pedig az író Egy ember élete című művének új kötetein. 1932 Februárban Haár Ferenccel és Bass Tiborral kiállítást rendez az Atelier Személynök utcai helyiségében. Márciusban felvételeivel szerepel a CIAM magyarországi csoportjának a Tamás Galériában rendezett bemutatóján. Részt vesz a Munka-kör szociofotósainak Bécsben, Pozsonyban és Szolnokon rendezett kiállításán. A szolnoki kiállítást a rendőrség bezáratja, Kassákot és Lengyelt izgatás vádjával őrizetbe veszik, majd kitoloncolják Szolnokról. Májusban A mi életünkből címmel, Kassák Lajos előszavával megjelenik a Munka fotókönyve. A kiadványban Lengyel öt felvétellel szerepel. Szociofotói bekerülnek a CIAM magyar csoportja által az Iparcsarnokban rendezett Ház, város, társadalom című kiállításának képanyagába. A szeptemberben létrehozott kiállítást az akkori közállapotokat bíráló tendenciája miatt „osztályellenes izgatás" címén betiltják, anyagának egy részét elkobozzák, a rendezőket fogházbüntetésre ítélik. A Munka Kultúrstúdiója című folyóirat első számában megjelenik Erőszak című felvétele. Ugyanezt a képet Terror címmel mint ismeretlen magyarországi munkásfotós alkotását az osztrák szocialista párt Der Kuckuck című hetilapjának december 18-i száma is közli. 1932-1934 A hazai és külföldi események hatására újabb politikai fotómontázsokat készít. 1936-1937 Fotómontázs-frizt készít a Fischer József tervezte Gyopár üdülő falára. 1937 Részt vesz a budapesti Műcsarnokban rendezett nemzetközi fotókiállításon. 1937-1940 Fotómontázsokat készít a Hungária Nyomda naptárai számára. 1939 Fotómontázsos védőborítót tervez Rosner Károly Magyar fényképezés című albumához. A kiadványban ismét megjelenik Kassák Lajosról készült felvétele. 1940 Nagy Ételről készített sorozata Vas István, Szentkúthy Miklós, Radnóti Miklós, Boldizsár Iván, Keszi Imre és Hajnal Anna írásaival együtt megjelenik a fiatalon elhunyt táncosnő emlékére kiadott kötetben. Róla készült felvétele kerül a kötet borítólapjára is. 1945-1948 A Független Nyomda műszaki igazgatója. 1947 Proletárkonyha című korábbi felvétele Kassák Lajos Fényképezzünk című írásának illusztrációjaként megjelenik a Kortárs október 15-i számában. 1949-1969 A Kossuth Nyomda igazgatója. 1961 Tipográfusi munkásságáért Kossuth-díjjal tüntetik ki. 1964Alberto és Képes Krónika című albumát a lipcsei nemzetközi könyvművészeti kiállításon arany- és bronzéremmel díjazzák. 1966 Részt vesz a Magyar Nemzeti Galéria A magyar fotóművészet 125 éve című kiállításán. Szolnokon újra megrendezik az 1932ben betiltott szociofotó-kiállítást. A megnyitón Kassák Lajos mond beszédet. Az anyagot vándorkiállítás formájában több más városban is bemutatják. 1967 Portrésorozatot készít a nyolcvanesztendős Kassákról. 1970 Három évtizedes szünet után ismét rendszeresen fotózik. Csendéleteket és fotogramokat készít. 1973 A Magyar Nemzeti Galériában rendézett életmúkiállításán az 1930-as években készült fotóit, fotómontázsait is bemutatja. A tárlat anyagát a veszprémi Bakony Múzeumban és az esztergomi Zodiakus Klubban is kiállítják. 1974 Könyv- és fotóművészeti kiállítása nyílik a makói József Attila Múzeumban és Berlinben, a Magyar Kultúra Házában. 1976 Életműkiállítást rendez Debrecenben, a Kossuth Lajos Tudományegyetem aulájában. Részt vesz a Hatvany Lajos Múzeum Expozíció - Fotó/művészet című kiállításán. 1977 Művei szerepelnek a szolnoki Damjanich Múzeumban rendezett Tegnap és ma című szociofotó-kiállításon. 1978 január 10-én meghal. 1979 Miskolcon a József Attila Könyvtárban megrendezik emlékkiállítását. 1981-1983 Felvételei A magyar fotográfia története című kiállítás anyagával a budapesti Műcsarnok után Belgiumba, Dániába, Norvégiába és Hollandiába is eljutnak. 1982 Művei szerepelnek a Kassák Múzeumban rendezett A kollázs a magyar művészetben 1920-1965 című kiállításon. 1989 Fotóit, fotómontázsait a budapesti Fotóművészeti Galériában majd a Műcsarnokban mutatják be. 1931 His photos are presented at the exhibitions of the Circle "Munka" organized first in the Tourist Union of the Friends of Nature, then in the Kovács Salon. As a typographer he participates in the organization of the Architectural exhibition "Kolház" arranged by the Hungarian group of CIAM. Two of his photo-montages are published in Lajos Gró's Russian Film Art, and his portrait made of Lajos Kassák appears on the new volumes of the writer's book Life of a Man. 1932 In February he arranges an exhibition together with Ferenc Haár and Tibor Bass in the rooms of the Atelier. In March his photos are exhibited in the Tamás Gallery with the Hungarian group of CIAM. He participates in the exhibitions of the sociophotographers of the Circle "Munka" in Vienna, Pozsony and Szolnok. The police orders the exhibition to be closed, Kassák and Lengyel are arrested with the charge of agitation against the state, and expelled from Szolnok. In May the photobook of "Munka" entitled From our Lives appears with the introduction of Kassák. Lengyel has five photos in it. His sociophotos are exhibited among the material of the exhibition of the Hungarian group of CIAM under the title House, City, Society - in the Hall of Industry. The exhibition arranged in September is banned as "anticlass agitation" bacause of its tendency to criticize the conditions of the time; part of the material is confiscated, the organizers condemned to imprisonment. In the first issue ot the periodical the Cultural Studio of "Munka" appears Lengyel's photo Violence. The same photo is published under the title Terror in the issue of December 18 of Der Kuckuck, the weekly of the Austrian socialist party. 1932-1934 Under the impact of events at home and abroad he makes more political photo-montages. 1936-1937 He makes a photo-montage-frieze for the wall of the Gyopár rest home designed by József Fischer. 1937 Participates at the international photo exhibition in the "Műcsarnok" of Budapest. 1937-1940 Makes photo-montages for the calendars of the Hungarian Printing House. 1939 Designs a jacket with photo-montages for the album of Charles Rosner: Hungarian Photography. His portrait of Lajos Kassák is published in the volume again. 1940 His series of Etel Nagy, together with the writtings of István Vas, Miklós Szentkuthy, Miklós Radnóti, Iván Boldizsár, Imre Keszi and Anna Hajnal, are printed in the volume commemorating the dancer deceased in her youth. His snapshot is also on the cover page. 1945-1948 He is works manager of the Independent Press. 1947 His earlier photo Proletarian kitchen appears as an illustration of Lajos Kassák's article Let us Make Photos in the October 15th issue of the periodical "Kortárs". 1949-1969 He is manager of the Kossuth Printing House. 1961 Awerded the Kossuth-prize for his typographic work. 1964 His albums Alberto and Illustrated Chronicle won a gold and bronze medal at the international book-art exhibition of Leipzig. 1966 Participates in the exhibition of the Hungarian national Gallery 125 years of Hungarian Photographic Art. The socio-photo exhibition of Szolnok banned in 1932 is organized again, with the opening address of Lajos Kassák. The material is shown in several towns. 1967 Makes a portrait series of the 80 years' old Kassák. 1970 After a pause of three decades he makes photos again; he produces still-lifes and photograms. 1973 At the exhibition of his oeuvre in the Hungarian National Gallery he presents also his photos and montages made in the 1930s. The material is exhibited also in the Bakony Museum of Veszprém and the Zodiacus Club in Esztergom. 1974 A book- and photo exhibition opens in the Museum of Makó and in the House of Hungarian Culture in Berlin. 1976 He exhibits his oeuvre in Debrecen, in the aula of the Kossuth Lajos University. Participates at the exhibition Exposition Photo/Art of the Hatvany Lajos Museum. 1977 His works are present at the socio-photo exhibition Yesterday and Today in the Damjanich Museum of Szolnok. 1978 Dies on January loth. 1979 His commemorative exhibition is arranged in Miskolc, in the József Attila Library. 1981-1983 His photos, together with the material of the exhibition The History of Hungarian Photography, are exhibited in Budapest, then in Belgium, Denmark, Norway and Holland. 1982 His works are exhibited in the Kassák Museum at the exhibition Collage in Hungarian Art 1920-1965. 1989 His photos and montages are presented in the Photo Art Gallery of Budapest, then in the "Műcsarnok".
