Archaikus és modern. Válogatás Raum Attila gyűjteményéből

Box Filled with Ideas Sándor Zoltán ( artist) Attila is a friend of mine. Since i know him well, 1 can understand his way of experiencing art from János Balázs to El Razovsky and to making art films. In his intellectual gallery there are pictures of Max Ernst, Picasso and Vajda, of the same artists as in mine. If he was a painter, I know what pictures he would make. To do certain things differently concerning his collection would be quite difficult. On hearing such advice he would probably just shrug his shoulders. 1 suppose he would he right. This is his museum. It is like him. To study and analyze it is the duty of concerned specialists. At present and in later times, as well. Since true art collectors never give up. No wonder they always yield to subjective and internal pressure since there always comes about something that makes the thoughts more refined or more powerful.... •k -k -k Boxes for shoes, hats, cookies, etc. are, as we all know, for wrapping. Boxes filled with ideas, however, are regarded as artwork. It was not me wTio found this out. 1 have been simply practising it for twenty years. It has existed for centuries. It is even known in certain fortunate spiritual cultures, in non-industrialised areas. They express what they wish through relatively non-problematic panel paintings, combined with real space and time closed behind glass windows. Highbrows often shrug their shoulders. Like when the time they saw works by Lajos Vajda for the first time. Once I read somewhere that one of the European members of a team on a voyage of discovery in the twenties of the last century wanted to please the Bedouins in the desert when saying good-bye. He took photos of them to give them as a present. However, an unbelievable thing happened. When they had the photos in hand none of them could say what those black and while spots were on the sheets. These people had never seen pictures in their lives. They were not able to read the two-dimensional world. Their mind could not perceive it. (As you all know, to interpret pictures is not an innate but an acquired capability of ours.) There are many who have the same experience with the box artworks, as well. The portrait - the alter ego of somebody or something - is sure to be there.
