V - „'Tis enough if it shines for me” - This Life (Mark Baczoni)
This Life This life is but a feast, you know, Keep drinking up when it's your go - Of both happiness and sorrow, Of cheap wine, joy with no morrow. Drinking to the dregs, spilling nought, For both happy or sad a thought; Many drinking so wild and free But some, like me, more cautiously. And now half my drinking stable Have slid down beneath the table; But, shunning intoxication, I still sit at my old station. Surveying what's left at the last Forlorn and ruined is my feast - So why enough did I not drink Under that table, too, to sink? 74
