E. Csorba Csilla: A kamera poétája. Adré Kertész-fotó a Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeum gyűjteményeiből (Budapest, 2019)
Korniss Péter: André Kertész kötődései / Péter Korniss: André Kertész’s Attachments
exhibition of his works was held in the Vigadó Gallery and he received the highest state award in Parliament. Although he did not get a freehold apartment, he was given a memorial museum for which he himself chose the building in Szigetbecse, to which he was attached in many ways. His album Hungarian Memories was published in America in 1982, three years before his death, and it includes his early photographs taken in Hungary - enchanting pictures from Esztergom, Szigetbecse and Budapest, many of which are already part of the universal history of photography. These pictures were taken by Andor Kertész, yet the world regards them as the works by André Kertész. That is how he is known by the French, the Americans and everywhere in the world where photography is esteemed. That is how we Hungarians keep him in our mind. And it is right. André Kertész belongs to us all... Opening speech by photographer Péter Korniss, delivered at the opening of the exhibition The Poet of the Camera, Petőfi Literary Museum, 3 July 2019.
