Hegyessy Gábor: Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén megye cincérfaunája (Budapest, 2013)
Summary
So far 37 protected long-horned beetle species are known to occur in Borsod-Abaúj-Zem- plén county. Of a total of 52 protected species in Hungary, this figure can be considered significant (71%). Of these, three species (Cerambyx cerdo, Morinus asper funereus and Rosalia alpina) are species of community interest (included in the Natura 2000 list of the European Union). So-far unknown species that have been discovered in the county as a result of new research are Cerambyx miles, Clytus tropicus, Exocentrus stierlini, Monochamus sutor and Xylotrechus pantherinus. The UTM mapping of the county’s long-horned beetles shows to what degree the proportions of research differ. The accompanying inserted map indicates how many different localities have come from the individual UTM grids. It is clear that the central, forested parts of the Bükk Mountains, the Aggtelek Karst and the Zemplén Hills, which are frequently visited also by hikers, are much more researched compared with a large part of the peripheries and areas on the lowlands. 146
