A néprajzi jelenkutatás problémái. Ethnographia, 85. évf. 378 — 380. Summary There has been an increasing interest in ethnomedical research in Hungary, too, in the last two decades. This interest is manifested in the Népi gyógyászati Archívum (Archives of Folk Medicine) started in 1962, in the formation of the Folk Medicine Section of the Hungarian Society for the History of Medicine in 1974, in exhibitions opened on the subject (Veszprém 1974, Budapest 1978), finally Mihály Hoppá and László Törő published their study "Ethnomedicine in Hungary" —in Hungarian and in English —in 1975 that was meant to open the way for further investigations in order to achieve a new synthesis. The most important tasks are summed up in the following: 1. to resolve the basic methodological and terminological problems of folk medical research. 2. to extend the scope of research to strata other than the peasantry: the investigations should cover the way of life of workers, the everyday culture of urban population. 3. to advance basic researches in the underexplored fields; to start and continue intensive work on site. 4. to proceed with taking single-viewed, differentiated data and giving good case descriptions. 5. to put more emphasis on the investigations of individuality, present and changes. 6. to work out a proposal on the systematization of ethnomedical material. 7. to continue the exploration of historical archives material. 8. to arrange the material of museal interest, to publish source studies and archives material; to compile an annotated bibliography of the publications on the subject.
