Dörnyei S.: Lenhossék Mihály a humanisztikus gimnáziumról 257 SUMMARY Mihály Lenhossék, being at his time the leading anatomists of Hungary as interviewed by the Society of the Supporters of the Humanistic Middle Schools, propounded a rather astonishing opinion on education in a letter addressed to Tibor Győry, the eminent Hungárián histórián of medicine. Lenhossék argues, that education has to be basically practical. He preferred „useful" subjects helping students in real life, partially or totally refusing teaching of such „useless" subjects üke literature, Latin or Greek. Present article after a brief introduction - publishes this letter.
