ADATTÁR — DOCUMENTS - SZÁLLÁSI Árpád: Hatvani István beszámolója a pozsonyi tanácskozásról, 1782- ből
SUMMARY In the year 1777 the Habsburg-government published the law „Ratio educationis" aiming a modern and conform system of education for the whole empire. Since the law interfered with several local, national, and religious interests, the various minorities attempted to resist it. The Calvinist community of Debrecen also sent a deputation to Pozsony (now Bratislava), in those days the capital of the kingdom, to carry on negotiations regarding the issue. One of the delegates of the Calvinist deputation was no other, than the famous professor of physics of the Debrecen University, the „Hungárián Faust", István Hatvani. His letter published - and annotated - first time here showes the difficulties the Calvinist delegates had to face during their mission.
