In poliomyelitis the ventral horn motoneurons, in tick-borne encephalitis the cerebellar cortex, the ventral part of the pons, the inferior olive and the spinal cord, in rabies the medulla oblongata and the spinal ganglia and in v. Economo encephalitis the substantia nigra are additionally, predilectionally involved.
