SUMMARY Károly Laufenauer (1848—1901) was an eminent neurologist of his age, being the first professor Ordinarius of neuropathology at the Budapest University. His main fields of research were epilepsy, hysteria and hypnotism. We can find here a choice of the letters written by Laufenauer to his former patient, a noble lady, Mrs. J.
