Based upon the texts edited by the Loeb Classical Library (Vol. I—IV. London, 1923—31.) the treatise deals mainly with one aspect of the Corpus Hippocraticum, with the relation between the doctor and the patient. (2nd part) The third part of the paper focuses on the Hippocratic Oath bringing up the questions of the authorship as well as of the prohibition of the abortus or the condemnation of suicide. Concerning the connection between the doctor and the sick the author of this paper obtains some new and interesting conclusions based strictly upon the evidence of the texts.
