Lecturis salutem (Antall József)
LECTURIS SALUTEM \Jnlike our usual practice, we are introducing this 89-91 j 1980 issue of our publication with a sort of preface. This "self-celebration" might not be improper since the Communicationes de História Artis Medicináé has arrived at its semi-jubilee with this treble issue. The first issue of our periodical (its former title had been Communicationes ex Bibliotheca Históriáé Medicae Hungarica) was published in 1955, since then it has been running in consecutive number. With No. 44/1968, it has assumed its present name and new format. Besides, the Supplementum series since its first issue in 1962 has reached No. 11-12. We believe that the Communicationes de História Artis Medicináé has well served the cause of medical history in the past quarter of a century and slowly made itself known in the international field as well. Our essays appear with plentiful foreign language summary or in translation so as to allow foreign researchers to get a view of the work of Hungarian medical historians and also to cooperate with them. Our present issue is a good example of international cooperation and of the assertion of our specific Hungarian aims. In the meantime let us remember our collègues wo served our cause at the foundation of the journal and afterwards but who are no more among the living. Their names need not be enumerated since the old copies on our shelves guard their memory. JÓZSEF ANTALL Editor
