SZEMLE Könyvekről - Zalai K.: A Magyar Gyógyszerészeti Társaság ötven éve (1924—1974)

During its 50 years activities the Society was always seeking to create contacts with state organs and with societies of allied sciences. A close contact is maintained with the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, with various working committees of its departments, with the Medical Universities, with the Institute of Postgraduate Education of Doctors, the Veterinary University, with the Semmelweis Museum of Medical History and with the various member unions of the Association of Hungarian Societies and Unions of Medical Sciences as well as the Association of Hungarian Societies and Unions of Technical Sciences. On the lever of international scientific relations numerous contacts have been built up with foreign pharmaceutical societies and their representatives. The most important of them is the relation established with the International Pharmaceutical Federation by taking actively part in the work of the Federation. The Society is also member of International Society for the History of Pharmacy. The cooperation with the pharmaceutical societies of some of the friendly countries is based on special convention. The above outline was intended to give a general view of the 50 years activities of the Hungarian Pharmaceutical Society. On the basis of an unbiased evaluation of the foregoing facts one concluded that activities of the Society were successfull in the promotion of the development of pharmaceutical sciences and in converting their results into the practice of pharmacy as well as in raising the prestige of Hungarian pharmacy. The task for the next decades will be to comply with the programme laid down by Dr. Elemér Schulek member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences "to accomplish the expansion of the spiritual and material values of pharmacy".
