r. med. Rembert Watermann has recently published a study of the rank medicus duplicarius in the Navies of Imperial Rome

. In particular, he discussed the tombstone of Sextus Arrius Romanus, a member of the Italian Fleet based at Ravenna'

ET.H Dr. Watermann deals with three main points: the meaning of duplicarius ; the expansion and interpretation of aegyp ; a possible parallel from the frieze of Mereruka at Saqqara.
