the collections of the Semmelweis Museum and from Dr. Gyula Varannai bearing on ophtalmology, or the collection of ophtalmie stamps of Dr. Imre Brand. The scenario of the exhibition was written by Dr. Károly Kapronczay, a Departmental Head of the Museum, who was aided by Dr. Viola Harkó, Senior Research FeUow. The exhibition was produced by Head of Department Mária Vida, the English text was written by Research Fellow Anikó Faludy. Visitors to the exhibition included Professor Magda Radnót, the President of the Association of European Ophtalmologists, who greatly praised what she saw. The appreciation of the large number of foreign visitors is recoded in the visitors' book. K. K. MAGYAR KERÁMIA PATIKAEDÉNYEK — A Semmelweis Orvostörténeti Múzeum időszaki kiállítása — Magyar kerámia patikaedények címen 1972. augusztus 11-én nyitotta meg dr. Schultheisz Emil egészségügyi miniszterhelyettes a Semmelweis Orvostörténeti Múzeum időszaki kiállítását, amely 1973. február 15-ig volt megtekinthető. A kiállításon bemutattuk — a hazai ásatási anyag alapján — a kerámia edényformák kialakulását és hatását a patikaedények fejlődésére. A különböző magyar múzeumokban és védett magángyűjteményekben található legszebb gyógyszertartók, patikaedények először kerültek ebben a témakörben kiállításra. Habán edények, holicsi, tatai fajansz patikaedények, Kuny Domokos budai manufaktúrájának legszebb darabjai mellett feltűntek a magyar keménycserép edények (Stomfa, Kassa, Miskolc, Pápa stb.) kiemelkedő pédányai. Jól egészítette ki ezt a fejlődésvonalat a népi kerámia anyag körébe tartozó néhány patikaedény, valamint a fejlődést záró gyári termékek (Zsolnay stb.) néhány darabja. A nagy érdeklődést kiváltó kiállítás forgatókönyvét V. Faludy Anikó írta. A kiállítás előkészítésében és megrendezésében részt vett dr. Pataki Zoltán és Simon Imola (művészi kivitelezés). PHARMACEUTICAL POTTERY IN HUNGARY — Exhibition in the Semmelweis Medicial Historical Museum — August, 1972 - February, 1973 Pharmaceutical Pottery in Hungary—was the title of a temporary exhibition in the Semmelweis Medical Historical Museum, opened by Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Emil Schultheisz August 11, 1972. In the exhibition—that was to be seen until February 15, 1973—there were shown on the basis of the excavations in Hungary the evolution of the pottery forms and their influence on the development of pharmaceutical ceramics. It was the first time that the most beautiful drug holders and ceramics, preserved in several museums and protected private collections in Hungary, have been exposited in this subject-matter. In addition to Haban ceramics, faience jars from Holies and Tata and the most beautiful pieces of the manufacture of Domokos Kuny in Buda also some outstanding exemplars of the hungarian earthenware vessels (from Stomfa, Kassa, Miskolc, Pápa etc.) came to appearence.
