Nemzetközi Orvostörténelmi Kongresszus székhelye 1974-ben Budapest lesz. Ez nem pusztán kitüntetés, de elsősorban a Magyar Orvostörténelmi Társaság és a Semmelweis Orvostörténeti Múzeum és Könyvtár munkásságának nemzetközi elismerése, amelyhez jelentős mértékben hozzájárult a világ minden tájára, a legfontosabb orvostörténelmi intézetekhez és kutatókhoz eljutó folyóiratunk.
