Vienna and Budapest, the cooperation of the Austrian and Hungarian medical historians compel us to do so. We think that the letters are self-explaining. In this spirit we present in the Communicationes de História Artis Medicináé the material of the correspondence. We have not given up hope for the case history and its supplements to crop up some time, either in original or published from copies of researchers who are empowered to do so. This belief of ours can only be strengthened by the friendly relations of the Vienna University and the Semmelweis Medical University in Budapest deeply rooted in the past. Imre Zoltán
