KISEBB KÖZLEMÉNYEK - ELŐADÁSOK - Sós András: Semmelweis rekonstrukciós portréja

Summary The idea of plastic reconstruction of the physiognomy of a deceased person by the cranium is not a new one. The method is: we count the mean values of the thickness of the soft parts of the head on the corresponding antropological points by X-ray and we produce statistics in groups as to age, sex and nutritional state. Then we put the suitable thick materia to the suitable points. At this reconstruction we can see that I. Ph. Semmelweis had progenia and his forhead was not so high as most of his portraits show. (The photos point at the development of plastic reconstruction.) This reconstruction is only an attempt, which is based on experiments being in progress, but we take the opportunity to present our results on the occasion of the Semmelweis anniversary.
