Boncolgatja Szokolszkij főbb munkáit, melyek főleg a betegek fizikai módszerekkel való vizsgálatának, a gümőkórnak és szíwéredények megbetegedéseinek vannak szentelve. A szerző rámutat az orosz tudósnak az általános és részletes belgyógyászat terén elért nagy sikereire. A többi között az ő prioritásához tartozik számos bélbetegség kórképének leírása. Szokolszkij G. I. a moszkvai egyetem orvosprofesszorának tevékenysége a XIX. század második felében sokban elősegítette az orosz belgyógyászat további fejlesztését. SUMMARY The article "Sokolski (1807-1888), eminent scientist of Russian medical science of the 18th century" by A. G. Lushnikov deals with the activities of a prominent man of science. Apart from a short biography of Sokolsky the article gives an analysis of his fundamental works, especially of those connected with physical methods of examining invalids, with the tuberculosis doctrine, and with vascular and heart diseases. Stress is laid on the successes achieved by this physician in the development of general and special therapeutics. The author dwells on the priority of Sokolsky in the province of depicting the symtomatology of internal diseases. Scientific activities of G. I. Sokolsky, professor of the Moscow University, contributed greatly to the development of Russian therapeutic school of the second half of the icthe century". 3* 35
