Jenő Sattler was the first, in 1929, to w T rite a monography on vascular surgery. The hook discusses in 55 pages the prac­tical methods of the problem and its modern view of things and his statements are acceptable even nowadays. Petrovsky's monography "The Surgical Treatment of Vascular Injuries" was published in Hungarian language after the Liberation. A great many of surgeons are dealing in Hungary with the clinical and experimental aspects of vascular surgery which is a branch of science in constant development and its results are day by day more widely used in clinical practice.
