ATTILA AGÓCS The art of story telling among the Gypsy in Gömör (Slovakia) This paper aims at describing the actual state and conditions of Gypsy story telling in the Slovakian Gömör county, on the basis of a fieldwork made between 2002 and 2004. The author focuses on a particular story teller, "Béla" Vojtech Oláh in order to show the complex processes and elements of the stories' acquisition, the occasions of story telling, especially during death-watch, and the role of fairy tales in it from the storyteller's point of view. In the second part of the article an attempt is made to trace the influence, exhibited by the audience, on the process of story telling.
